By the organizational support of the International Turkic Academy, meeting of the directors of the Institutes of Literature of the Turkic world took place in Astana.

Declaring the event open, the president of the International Turkic Academy, Professor Darkhan Kidirali informed the participants that according to the decision of the Summit of Heads of Turkic states were tasked with the preparation of the textbook "Turkic literature". He noted that the textbook "Turkic history", prepared in 2014-2015 years. After extensive discussions, has already been submitted for printing. It was added that the Directors of the Institutes of Literature of the Turkic world, together with scientists led their institutions to prepare a program of the textbook "Turkic literature" in 2015-2016 and going to submit it for printing.

Issues relating to the scope and structure of the prepared manual became the subject of discussion in the meeting of Directors of the Institutes of Literature of the Turkic world. 

At the event, Vice-President of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke on "The concept of periodization of the literature of Turkic peoples”. Speaking on the report the Vice President for Humanities and Social Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, Academician Abdildajan Akmataliev, chairman of the Turkic Language Organization, Professor Mustafa Kachalin, head of the department of literature of the Eurasian National University of the Republic of Kazakhstan on behalf of Lev Gumilyov Academician Seyit Kaskabasov, director of the Institute of Literature and Art Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Professor Kim Minullin and director of the Institute of Literature of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, professor Ualikhan Kalidjanov expressed their opinions and views on the concept of periodization of the history of the literature of Turkic peoples. After extensive discussions, instead of a rough periodization division, proposed the preliminary draft submitted by Isa Habibbeyli reflecting the principles of periodization of the six-phase millennial path of the history of literature of Turkic peoples.

At the meeting of the Institutes of Literature of the Turkic world was focused on the first 10 covers of 100 volumed edition dubbed "Common heritage of the Fathers”, which provides for the publication by the International Turkic Academy. The discussions identified common works in the Turkic languages, a part of the first 10 copies, and decisions about their preparation for printing. It was also suggested to prepare "Divani-lugat-it Turk" by Mahmoud Kashgarli, "Kudatku Bilik" by Yousif Balasuguni and Orkhon-Yenisei inscriptions for printing centers of the Turkish language and culture, works of Alisher Navoi – by Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the epic "Manas" – by the Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, "Divan-i-Hikmat" by Ahmed Yasavi - Institute of Literature on behalf of Mukhtar Auezov of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

ANAS has undertaken publication of Dresden and the Vatican instances of "Kitabi Dede Gorgut" which included in the project of "Common heritage of the Fathers", epos "Koroglu" and Muhammad Fizuli volumes.

Finally, was held the signing ceremony of a memorandum on mutual cooperation between the institutions of the Literature of Turkic-speaking republics. From the Azerbaijani side the memorandum was signed by the Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli.

It was decided to hold the next Board of Directors of the Institutes of Literature of the Turkic world in the spring of 2016 in the city of Kazan.
