Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On October 13, kicked off a republican scientific conference on “Lubricants, fuels, special fluids, additives and reagents” devoted to 50th anniversary of ANAS Institute of Chemical Additives.

In the official ceremony of the conference Vice-President of ANAS, Acad. Tofig Nagiyev stated that, both in the Soviet era and in the years of independence, Institute of Chemical Additives had played exceptional role in development of Azerbaijan chemistry science and industry: “After President of ANAS Akif Alizadeh’s suggestion on giving the prevalence to applied innovative projects met with demands of modern era, institutes of chemistry, including Institute of Chemical Additives especially distinguishes with its fundamental and applied fulfillments. Taking into account industrialization in the Republic, we can say that, scientific ventures should be improved like the Institute of Chemical Additives.”

Later on, director of the institute, Acad. Vagif Farzaliyev reported with a wide presentation on the 50 years of activity of a scientific temple. He noted that, in the first years of independence, institute led by him was not only engaged in staff training and creating the theoretic basics of researches, but also was giving its contributions to the economy of the country, where economy has been collapsed and people were living with difficulties in a state of war: “In the years of war, Experimental plant under the institute has produced 100 tons of industrial oils and wasted it for country's defense industry.”

Director of the institute stressed out that, currently this scientific venture has stepped into a new stage of development, cooperates via leading scientific institutions of the foreign countries as well as carries out a variety of events in terms of to recruit the youth into the science.
