Department of Humanitarian Sciences discussed several issues

Department of Humanitarian Sciences of ANAS (DHS) held next bureau meeting at the Presidium of ANAS.

Opening the meeting Academician-secretary of DHS Acad. Teymur Karimli informed on the issues of agenda. He brought to mind the election of Academician, state advisor for ethnic, multicultural and religious affairs of AR Kamal Abdullayev to Bureau membership of DHS by the decision of ANAS.

Later on, Acad. T.Karimli presented Honorary Award of ANAS to Ertegin Salamzadeh, director of the Institute of Architecture and Art, corresponding member of ANAS, on the occasion of 50th anniversary pursuant to decision of the Presidium dated September 23, 2015.

Several scientific-organizing issues were scheduled in the assembly. Notifying about creation of Expert commission attached to Presidium with the goal of to analyze test questions developed for doctorate and doctoral exams by the scientific ventures of ANAS, T. Karimli spoke on execution state of this process in the institutions. Test tasks have been developed by the institutions of department and widely discussed in an assembly of Expert Commission established under DHS on October 15, 2015 which chaired by director of the Institute of Folklore, corresponding member of ANAS Mukhtar Imanov. Carrying out of trainings before exam of admission was proposed in the assembly as well.

Event also discussed issue of submitting for publication Explanatory terms dictionary by employees of Terminology department of the Institute of Linguistics

In the assembly, Acad. Kamal Abdullayev once more drew attention of participants the Order of AR President in connection with initial translation of “Kitabi Dede-Gorgud” by German scientist Fredrick fon Ditz, its publication and recognition in whole world and a number of issues on execution of Action Plan developed by the Cabinet of Ministers of AR in this regard. The issue solicited by President echoed in Turkey as well, and chain of events concerned Dede-Gorgud was held there, scientist stated.

Then, Acad. Teymur Karimli informed about the exhibition to be organized within 70th anniversary of ANAS.

Head of Division of Relations with international organizations of the Department of International Relations of ANAS PhD in History Nurida Guliyeva noted that exhibition devoted to 70th anniversary of ANAS will open on November 2. Covering 370kv.m area and consisting of 41 pavilions, the exhibition will be organized at the main building of ANAS. Preparatory works to exhibition has already been completed, she added.

In closing, several staff problems were scheduled.

Event was attended by bureau members of DHS, heads of institute and scientific organizations and people responsible for developing test tasks.
