6 grant projects were approved

Annual report of Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU) Administrative Council was attended on December 12-13.

Vice-president of ANAS acad. Ibrahim Guliyev, executive director of STCU Michael Einik, deputy of Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamaz Marsagishvili, as well as delegates of U.S and Moldova were participated in the event.

Discussions of grant projects submitted from ANAS Institutes and results were announced. Discussed projects covers chemistry, physics, agrarian sciences, health and nano technology.

6 of 14 projects submitted by ANAS institutes for 2013 grant programs were approved.

Projects covers following topics : “Biological treatment of oil pollution in the coastal bay” (ANAS Institute of Chemical Additives), “The transition to organic agriculture production and application problems of new biotechnologies” (ANAS Institute of Genetic Resources Institute), “Elaboration of biotechnological methods for wastewater treatment of the Caspian Sea” (ANAS Institute of Radiation Problems), “Development of bio methods for research of ecological - microbiological status of the Caspian Sea coastal waters, and its treatment from petroleum hydrocarbons” (ANAS Institute of Microbiology and the Institute of Chemical Problems) , “Effect of man-made radionuclides and insecticides to the entomophages of insects (Homoptera, Coccoidea) in the North - East Azerbaijan"(ANAS Institute of Zoology), “Elaboration of new methods for treatment of contaminated soil with plants in the vicinity of Baku and Ganja” ( Institute of Botany, Azerbaijan State Agrarian University).
