Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On December 10, ANAS Republican Seismological Survey Center (RSSC) held next bureau meeting at the Department of Earth Sciences (DAS) of ANAS.

Meeting with participation of bureau members was opened by Academician-secretary of DAS, Acad. Fakhraddin Gadirov who informed on the issues of agenda.

Then, general director of RSSC, corresponding member of ANAS Gurban Yetirmishli delivered a lecture on scientific-organizing activity of the center for 2015. He brought to mind the awarding of 5 employees of the center to the honorary titles and medals on the occasion of 70th anniversary of ANAS pursuant to the AR President Ilham Aliyev.

Director provided information on the seismic observations in the territory of Azerbaijan, domestic and foreign earthquakes, including enhancing of monitoring network of RSSC, and GPS stations installed in the country. Making speech on complex seismological, geophysical, geochemical and geodynamic researches and obtained results G. Yetirmishli touched upon staff training and joint collaboration ties via foreign countries.

G.Yetirmishli also noted that, “Seismoprognosis observations in the territory of Azerbaijan” journal is published once a year, officially registered in the Supreme Attestation Commission under President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and received international ISSN certificate.

In the event Academicians Arif Ismayilzadeh, Hatam Guliyev, Ramiz Mammadov and others made speeches on the report of RSSC.

Later on, in connection with 70th anniversary of ANAS, a group of associates in RSSC were awarded to Honorary Orders of the organization for their social-scientific activity.
