Today Heydar Aliyev Center in Sumgayit State University (SSU) held round table dedicated to the discussion of cooperation opportunities.

President of ANAS Acad. Akif Alizadeh, Head of Science and Education Department of ANAS Presidium Administration Dr. Engineering Aminaga Sadigov, Academician-secretary of the Department of Chemical Sciences, Director of the Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry Acad. Dilgam Tagiyev, Director of the Institute of the Petrochemical Processes, Acad. Vagif Abbasov and Director of the Institute of Polymer Materials Acad. Akif Azizov attended the round table.

In advance event attendees put flowers in front of national leader Heydar Aliyev’s bust.

Then, chancellor of the SSU Prof. Elkhan Huseynov greeted the guest and stated that implementing educational reforms as well as strengthening staff and intellectual capacity in the country is directly associated with name of Heydar Aliyev.

He informed on the establishment history of the University, its activity directions, carried out international programs and projects. University has held student admission over specialties of foreign language, mathematics and computer science, history and geography, primary education, pre-school education and training. In addition, Russian sectors have been created in 4 faculties, he added.

Chancellor expressed his confidence that agreement of cooperation to be signed with participation of ANAS President, Acad. Akif Alizadeh would contribute for science and education.

ANAS President Acad. Akif Alizadeh reported in the event and noted that, after national leader’s return to the power, science and scientific dignity was focused on. Also, scientist highlighted the science as a priority area in a modern era and brought to mind the great opportunities of the agreement for science and education.

Meeting discussed issues of involving the teacher and student staff to the institutes of ANAS, providing researchers of the Sumgayit State University, Institute of Petrochemical Processes and Institute of Polymer Materials via literature and library proceedings with the goal to conduct and implement research works and projects over particular directions and existed specialties. Opening certain chairs and affiliates in all three scientific ventures, conducting joint scientific projects and grants, discussing obtained results in the seminars and conferences, carrying out the exchange of staff and experience will pave the way both strengthening the ties and development of science and education, was noted.

In closing, Institute of Petrochemical Processes and Institute of Polymer Materials signed an agreement of cooperation with Sumgayit State University. Agreement was signed by Academician Dilgam Tagiyev, Vagif Abbasov and Akif Azizov by ANAS, and chancellor of the university Elkhan Huseynov by SSU.
