Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

In the current year were published 571 scientific papers of all employees of ANAS Nakhchivan Branch: 13 monographs, 5 books, 2 methodical manuals, 523 scientific articles and conference proceedings, 28 abstracts, reported about in the meeting devoted to scientific and organizational activity of Nakhchivan Department of ANAS in 2015.

Chairman of Nakhchivan Branch, Academician Ismayil Hajiyev reported on the activities of research institutes and sub structures.

It was noted that this year Nakhchivan Branch hosted for events on the occasion of declaring 2015 as a “Year of Agriculture", 70th anniversary of ANAS, 70-year victory in the war of 1941-1945., the 200th anniversary of the first translation into German and edition of "Kitabi Dede Gorgud". It was intended to implement 86 stages of 32 research projects, covering 6 problems in 6 directions. For various reasons, it was suspended in the plan 9 stages of research work stopped and completed works in 77 stages. Research works have been carried out thanks to 77 researchers and supporting staff.

Ismayil Hajiyev informed the participants that 158 works, including 1 monograph, 155 scientific articles and conference proceedings and 2 theses were published abroad. In the reporting year it was published four issues of the journal "News", which was published 110 articles of Branch staff. In 2015, the number of papers, relying to a researcher at the Department, was equal to 7.5.

According to the staff schedule 244 individuals employed in Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS. During the reporting period, 17 people were recruited. Currently, the department employs 77 researchers and 9 technicians. Also, 24 PhD students (for the preparation of 13 PhDs, 11 doctors), 31 continue continued studies of the relevant theses.

An employee of the Branch was awarded the title "Honored Worker of Science", another one - Award "Hasan bey Zardabi" of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, and 3 ones - the medal "Tereggi” according to the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Republic in 2015 for achievements in the development of Azerbaijani science.

Academician Ismayil Hajiyev noted that in 2015 Branch held an international symposium, 19 conferences and events, 11 meetings, 3 presentations and 38 scientific seminars. Among them was remembered "Heydar Aliyev Lyceum", which examined the different areas of life and political activity of National Leader.

Within the meeting the two employees of the Branch were awarded the honorary diploma "Scientist of the Year" for outstanding achievements in 2015.
