Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On October 15, the event “From Political Succession to Political Leadership: The Architect of the Historic Victory” took place at ANAS, jointly organized by the Presidium of ANAS and the Free Trade Union of ANAS.

The event gathered together the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, staff members of the administration of the Presidium of ANAS, the leadership and staff of the Free Trade Union of ANAS, representatives of the trade unions of scientific institutions and organizations, members of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS, the Women’s Council of ANAS and activists of the New Azerbaijan Party territorial party organizations.

The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played at first.

In his opening speech, Academician Isa Habibbeyli said that Ilham Aliyev, who was elected President of Azerbaijan on October 15, 2003 and swore to serve his people with dignity, has achieved great historical successes over the past 21 years. He underlined that Ilham Aliyev has entered our centuries-long rich statehood history as the Victorious Commander-in-Chief who has brought victories to our people. President Ilham Aliyev is a powerful leader of an independent state pursuing an independent policy, and he is a leader who objectively assesses the realities of today and accurately predicts the horizons of tomorrow.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli underlined that thanks to President Ilham Aliyev’s high management skills, all areas of social life in the country are rapidly developing and today, Azerbaijan’s leader and state have become influential on the global scene. The head of ANAS underlined that Azerbaijan’s hosting of a prestigious event like COP29 has been realized as a result of President Ilham Aliyev’s successful policy implemented both within our country and on the international stage.

The chairman of the Free Trade Union of ANAS, PhD in political sciences, associate professor Sanan Hasanov also made a speech at the event, underlining that President Ilham Aliyev has transformed Azerbaijan into a strong state by further developing the ideas of the National Leader.

The director of the Central Scientific Library of ANAS, PhD in technical sciences, associate professor Huseyn Huseynov spoke about President Ilham Aliyev’s attention and care for the families of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our homeland and his care for our veterans. 

Later, the scientific workers of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS, Khanimaga Ismayilova and Hafiza Imanova said that President Ilham Aliyev has worked with strong will throughout his 21 years of service and restored our state sovereignty in all our territories. They expressed their confidence that the great unity between the people and the leader will be eternal and highlighted that young scientists are closely united around Mr. President.

In the end, Academician Isa Habibbeyli on behalf of the large collective of ANAS wished continued success to Victorious Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in his tireless work for the development of our homeland. He underlined that the collective of ANAS will continue to unite closely around Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the worthy political successor of the National Leader, as they have always done.
