Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

With the goal to provide Decision of the Presidium of ANAS dated October 28, 2015, Institute of Information Technology hosted training on creation and governance of web-sites of the institutes and organizations of ANAS, February 5.

Training was attended by responsible people to web-sites of scientific departments, ventures and organizations of ANAS.

Opening the training Academician-Secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technology (IIT), Academician Rasim Alguliyev greeted the training attendees and head of ANAS Academician Akif Alizadeh on behalf of the IIT staff. 

The event was opened by Director of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS (IIT), Academician Rasim Alguliyev, who welcomed the participants of the training on behalf of the President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh and IIT team.

He noted that, due to the development of advanced technologies and the emergence of online media has become possible to follow the latest news, as well as facilitate the acquisition, processing and transmission of information. Further, Academician stressed the importance of websites in spreading information and multimedia products.

Noted that, creation and operation on the basis of innovative technologies of websites of scientific institutions and the organizations of any structure, including Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in information century is the requirement of time, Academician emphasized that, web resources present importance to the organizations of promotion of scientific activity at the high level, ensuring needs of society for obtaining information and satisfaction of needs for scientific information.

Noting that, at ANAS are carried out important steps towards the organization of web sites of scientific institutions and organizations at the highest level, R.Alguliyev informed about the monitoring sites of institutions and organizations, Academy and the preparation for the special certificates of institutions according to the results of monitoring.

According to the scientist, ANAS Presidium has accepted Decree on monitoring results. The resolution, among other issues, also envisaged training on the creation and management of web sites of scientific institutions and organizations of Academy.

Training organized for this purpose is important from the point of view of the discussion and solution of the existing problems in this area. At the training were delivered following reports on various aspects of web technologies.

Head of the Institute Department Gulnara Nabibeyova delivered a report on "Stages of development and prospects of web technologies" and told about key concepts of a world wide web, the main features of WEB1.0, WEB2.0 and WEB3.0, which represent stages of development of web technologies and also the signs distinguishing them from each other. She also brought to the attention of event participants thought about the prospects in the field of Computer Science of web technologies of the world leading scientists.

Section Head of the Institute Afruz Gurbanova spoke on "Organization and management of web sites" and informed on the requirements for the creation and management of sites of scientific institutions and organizations of Academy. The speaker told about design, the software and language, also about standard and legal documents on management and operation of the ANAS websites.

Deputy Head of Public Relations and science popularization of Presidium of ANAS Administration Ulviya Rzayeva delivered a report on "Information Support of Websites". Gave an extensive presentation on the information support of sites, U. Rzayeva touched on the issue of copyright protection in the Internet, stressed the need to reflect in some news and materials, in particular in foreign news, links to the source indicating the author.

Researcher of the Institute Saadat Agayeva submitted a report on "Web Analytics: current situation, problems and prospects" and spoke about the opportunities and advantages created by the web-analytics. In the topic was reported purpose on web analytics and web statistics role in the formation of the web site. It was noted that, the web analytics carries out calculation of data for improvement of activity of the site. Noting that, the statistics is carried out in order to identify weaknesses of the web sites, S. Agayeva told about the web statistics tools, which are in great demand. She also told about many scientometric and web-metric indicators which are used for an assessment of activity of the researcher and scientific journals, as well as definition of a rating of the countries and universities.

Programmer Yusif Sadiyev delivered report on "Website security". Speaker told about ways of safety of the sites, general situation in the world in the sphere of web safety, cyber wars, attacks to the sites, features of cyber attacks, level of safety of web platforms minimizing of the damage that can be caused. Also was informed on software problems of websites of some institutions and organizations of ANAS, the current situation in Azerbaijan against cyber attacks.

The presentation aroused great interest among the participants of the training and discussions were held.
