Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On February 17, at the next meeting of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was listened a report of Sheki Regional Scientific Center (SRSC) of ANAS.

Report on the scientific and organizational activities of the center in 2015 was made by the director PhD in physical and mathematical sciences Yusif Shukurlu.

During the year, implemented organizational and cultural events were held in Sheki Regional Scientific Center. In 2015, defined further work to be done in accordance with the "Action Plan to strengthen the effective control and coordination of activities against the Armenian Diaspora,"Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, studies began at the State Archives of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Sheki affiliate.

It was noted that on the recommendation of the President of ANAS and Executive Power of Sheki was developed and submitted to the authority of local authorities special sericulture development concept in Azerbaijan for 2016-2020 years. In addition, has been developed concept on given status of museum to the “Labyrinth", located in the village of Fazil, Sheki region, and the establishment on Museum of Archeology Ethnography and Anthropology on its base.

SRSC achieved notable success in expanding international scientific contacts. So, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Bulgarian Agrarian University and two countries in the field of basic and applied research in the agricultural sector. Between center and Experimental test station of sericulture and agriculture of the Agricultural Academy of the Republic of Bulgaria was signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation in the 2016-2020. Participation of regional center in 16 conferences held in Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Russia, and the publication of their theses in the conference proceedings is an indication that the research institution successfully presented abroad. In the reporting year, in accordance with the approved plan of scientific research in accordance with the priority areas of research and development on eight topics were carried out in eight central departments.

The speaker also spoke about the human capacity of the scientific center. He noted that 15 employees of the center are research assistants, a doctor and seven of PhDs. In addition, 5 employees were awarded the badge of ANAS named after Nizami Ganjavi on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Academy. Director of the center, PhD in physical and mathematical sciences Y.Shukurlu was awarded the gold medal of the European publishing house "Best patriot researcher."

Speaking about the important scientific achievements of the center, the director noted that 27 articles of employees of SRSC were published in the reporting year, one of which was published in journals with impact factor, five of which - abroad, in general, 24 theses, 11 of which were published abroad. Five books and two monographs have been released.

Following the discussion, report on the scientific and organizational activity of the scientific center in 2015 was included in the annual report of ANAS.
