Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Institute of Botany hosted the event devoted to March 1 - “World Day of Civil Defense”.

Chief Staff of Civil Defense of the institution, Nazim Khalilov said about the history of the World Civil Defense Day, noted that in recent years in our country is paid special attention to this area.

He noted that, March 1 is marked as creation of the International Civil Defense Organization since 1972. Azerbaijan entered to this prestigious international organization in 1993.

He noted that, the main challenges set up before CD are public safety in case of emergencies, earthquakes, fires, landslides, industrial accidents, damage and to arrange the protection of the population, and to ensure their training in this regard.

Also noted that, the main purpose of CD is informing the employees by rules of behavior and checking the preparation level at threat of natural disasters and accidents.

Then, exchange of views was held on the subject, responded questions.
