“Eyneli bey Sultanov:”Stories” book presented

On June 2, ANAS Nakhchivan Branch held a presentation ceremony of the book “Eyneli bey Sultanov: “Stories”.

At the event chairman of the Branch Academician Ismayil Hajiyev stated that, the book, compiling the stories by researcher of the Branch Elkhan Mammadov, reflects a multilateral creativity of one of the notable faces in Azerbaijan literature, writer, dramatist, publicist, translator, educator and social figure Eyneli bey Sultanov.

The order of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Supreme Assembly “On the celebrating 150th anniversary of Eyneli bey Sultanov” dated February 15, 2016 is an important governmental document, which serves in one hand to re-investigation of notable thinker’s life and activity, in another hand to study of literature, culture, in general, history of social thought, he noted.

Then, director of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature of the Branch corresponding member of ANAS Abulfez Guliyev delivered a lecture “Studying the literary-artistic heritage of Eyneli bey Sultanov and its publishing issues”.

The chief department of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, Dr. Philology Farman Khalilov, PhD in Philology, Assoc. Prof. Zulfiyye Ismayil, senior researcher of the institute PhD in Art Study Assoc. Prof. Alakbar Gasimov reported at the event as well. It was noted that, a new book, of which Vice-President of ANAS Academician Isa Habbibeyli is an adviser and author of preface, embraces 33 stories. The book publishing in the “Elm ve tehsil” (Science and education) publishing-house compiles stories such as, “Nakhirchi gizi Gozal”, “Bulbul”, “Janub geceleri”, “Gurd balasi”, “Chalma” and “Taza Pir".

In closing, researcher of the Folklore study department of the Branch Elkhan Mammadov, who compiled stories and conducted for publication, reported at the event, highlighted the significance of the relevant state order, which paved the way for deeply study of Eyneli bey Sultanov’s heritage, and expressed his gratitude for event attendees.
