ANAS Nakhchivan Department hosted the monograph of "Outstanding personalities in the epigraphic monuments of Nakhchivan" by Director of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archaeology, corresponding member of ANAS Haji Fakhraddin Safarli.

At the event, chairman of the Department, Academician Ismayil Hajiyev spoke about the importance of the monograph.

He noted that, the book provides information on the extant Islamic epigraphic monuments of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, describes the 10 rulers, who guided medieval Azerbaijani states, and 97 eminent personalities, who lived and created in Nakhchivan.

It was noted that, epigraphic monuments, epitaphs were considered authoritative historical sources, which keep the information about prominent historical figures. The book, consisting of such volumes as rulers, public officials, architects, artists, scientists, religious leaders, philanthropists, Sufi sheikhs, contains detailed information about the outstanding personalities.

Academician I.Hajiyev noted that, the book is a valuable contribution in domestic science.

Then, chief department of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archaeology of Nakhchivan Department, Associate Professor Asaf Orujov delivered a report on "The role of epigraphic monuments in the study of outstanding individuals".

At the event, chief department of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archaeology of Nakhchivan Department, Associate Professor Emin Shikhaliyev, PhD in History Zeynab Guliyeva, Ilham Aliyev shared their opinion on the monograph.
