ANAS Nakhchivan Branch continues research works in study of history, geography, archaeology, ethnography, literature and natural resources of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR). The key goal is to promote our history by publishing all these studies in a book or booklet form and deliver to the further generations.

One of the vital measures, implementing at the Branch, is preparation of the first cover of two volume book “Nakhchivan Geography” for the publication. Opening the event, chairman of the Branch Academician Ismayil Hajiyev stated that, this book is beneficial in terms of learning geography of the autonomous republic. A new edition will pave the way for getting broad information about geography of NAR.

Director of ANAS Institute of Geography after Academician Hasan Aliyev Ramiz Mammadov, Deputy Director of this institute, corresponding member of ANAS Elbrus Alizadeh, Nakhchivan State University Rector, corresponding member of ANAS Saleh Maharramov, director of the Institute of Bio-resources of Nakhchivan Department, Academician Tariel Talibov, Associate Professor of Nakhchivan State University Nazim Bababayli, Senior Research Fellow of the Institute of Geography, Associate Professor Maharram Hasanov and employees of the Nakhchivan Department of Natural Resources attended the event.

During the discussions, the sides exchanged views on the merits of the book, the scientific experts, opinions and ideas.

It was noted that, the first volume of the two-volume book "Nakhchivan Geography" has been completed and is expected to be published by the end of 2016.
