Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On September 14, in the round hall of Main building of ANAS, Institute of Literature of ANAS hosted for scientific-practical conference “Horizons of Muhammadhuseyn Shahriyar’s art world” dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Muhammadhuseyn Shahriyar - a great poet of XX century.

At the event, Vice-President of ANAS director of the Institute of Literature Academician Isa Habibbeyli made speech on literary creativity of notable poet, his role in development of XX century East poetry and contributions to the literature.

Vice-President said that besides of Azerbaijani scientists, researchers from Iran also were involved to the conference work. He stressed out the importance of the conference in enhancing literary ties, deeply studying, exploring and teaching of Shahriyar’s creativity.

I.Habibbeyli notified national leader Heydar Aliyev’s respect to the Shahriyar’s heritage and drew attention to his Order on poet’s 90th anniversary.

One of his interviews great leader Heydar Aliyev responded the question addressed to him “Who is your favorite poet?" - as “Shariyar”, reminded academician and highlighted that, wealth of insight, purity and sincerity in Shahriyar’s poetry made people to adore him.

Then, Ambassador of the Iran Islamic Republic to Azerbaijan Mohsun Pakayin dealt with exceptional role of great poet of XX century Shahriyar in poetry and culture of Azerbaijan-Iran.

Making speech on Azerbaijan-Iran ties M.Pakayin brought to mind the rapid development of relations in political, economic, scientific, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

Chairman of Iran Culture Center Dr. Ibrahim Ibrahimli spoke about the richness of Shahriyar’s creativity. By unique creative style and smooth language, simple and memorable statements he made great contributions to the development of world literature. His immortal poem "Heydarbabaya salam" is one of the giants of XX century.

Reporting at the event, Academician Vasim Mammadaliyev, rector of Tabriz University Prof. Mahamadrza Purmahammadi, director of the Institute of Oriental Studies corresponding member of ANAS Govhar Bakhshaliyeva, Professor at the Ardabil University Prof. Ahmad Farshfab and others shared their opinions on separate directions of poet’s activity.

Within the conference, poems were performed by master poet.
