Delegation led by General Director of Republican Seismological Survey Center (RSSC) corresponding member of ANAS Gurban Yetirmishli visited Potsdam city at the invitation of Stefano Parolain, A Professor and head of Center for Early Warning Systems under German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ).
Meeting which took part at the center has discussed studies, works done and iutputs, meanwhile, research works on seismic zoning of Baku city and defining seismically hazard zones.
Azerbaijani delegation has been at the central campus of GFZ CEWS in Potsdam city.
Gurban Yetirmishli delivered a lecture on earthquake epicenters impacting Baku city and paid to the attention the necessity of seismic zoning works of the capital.
Head of Earth System Knowledge Platform, co-director of Central-Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences Jörn Lauterjung highly appreciated the works done in the realm of seismology in Azerbaijan, and brought to mind that, majority of earthquake epicenters, which affect Baku city are in the Caspian Sea, so it is necessary to install seismic stations in the sea.
