Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Today, the Presidium of ANAS held a meeting with the executive director of the Academy of Natural Sciences and Humanities of Israel, Dr. Meir Zadok, and Professor in the Department of Immunology Ruth Arnon of the Weizmann Institute. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the organization of experience and staff exchange and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel.

President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh, welcomed the guests and noted that he was glad to see them in the temple of Azerbaijani science. Sharing his opinion about the visit to Israel, the head of the ANAS brought to the attention that in this country achieved significant progress in the field of science. He noted that during the visit, with the support of Tel Aviv University, his monograph in the field of geology was published by the publishing house "Springer".

Head of ANAS informing guests of possessing historical significance of the Presidium of ANAS emphasized that important decisions are aimed at the development of Azerbaijani science. A.Alizadeh noted the special role of the President Ilham Aliyev in the development and strengthening of material-technical base of the structure headed by him.

The scientist noted that ANAS has been carried out master studies for 2 years, which is the integration of science and education in our country. It was also reported that in the future in order to prepare highly qualified staff establishment of the University at ANAS planned in various fields of science.

The next speaker, Professor, Department of Immunology, Weizmann Institute Ruth Arnon noted that she got acquainted with the activity of a number of institutions and organizations of ANAS. The guest also said that it has attracted special interest in the Institute of Information Technology, implemented projects here, and achieved scientific results. Speaking about the research institutions and organizations operating in Israel, the guest emphasized that her country's research institutes are functioning in the subordination of the state. She commended the Academy for the development and promotion of Azerbaijani science.

At the meeting, was stressed out the importance of studying the experience of Israel in Azerbaijan, implementation of joint projects and research, including the exchange of personnel and experience between the two countries in the field of science.

In conclusion, Akif Alizadeh handed Israeli guests mementos that reflect the activities of the Academy.
