The scientific session devoted to 130-year anniversary of Mamed Emin Rasulzade was held

On January 27, 2014 in the Main building of ANAS by organization ofInstitute of history the scientific session devoted to 130-year anniversary of Mamed Emin Rasulzade was held. At first the anthem of the Azerbaijan Republic was heard.

Action was opened by the director of institute, the deputy of Milli Majlis, the Honored worker of science, corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Makhmudovrecalling the Order of the President Ilham Aliyev “On holding 130-year anniversary of Mamed Emin Rasulzade " from November 22, 2013, told about life, literary and political activity of the eminent political person. It was noted that Mamed Emin Rasulzade was one of eminent state and public figures, thinkers, politicians and publicists of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) (1918-1920). As a result of efforts of statesmen new traditions of statehood started reviving, the first democratic parliament of the Turkic Islamic world is created, the democratic rights of citizens are restored, and the equal rights for men and women in a vote question are proclaimed. Y.Makhmudov, describing Mamed Emin Rasulzade as faithful public ideologue traditions, social and political activist and journalist mentioned the words “Once raised the flag will never fall!” It was also noted that at the request of the national leader Heydar Aliyev the two-volume book “Encyclopedia of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic” was prepared. During scientific session reports on “Formation of political views M.E. Rasulzade at the beginning of the XX century”, “M.E.Rasulzade as one of founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic”, “M.E.Rasulzade's parliamentary activity” were heard.
