Central Scientific Library of ANAS has held a seminar on “Innovation activity and science commercialization” on November 8.

Seminar was realized at the initiative of Innovation Department of Presidium Administration of ANAS and co-organization of Young Scientists and Specialists Council, Department of Copyrights and Patent.

Opening the seminar chief of Innovation Department Vugar Babayev informed on the works done in science commercialization and successful reforms in Academy. Making speech on state care to science he stated that, establishment of ANAS Park of High Technologies is an obvious indicator of it. He invited scientists and specialists of Earth and Chemistry Divisions to closely take part in future activities of the Park and submit their innovative idea and knowledge.

Later on, senior specialist at the same department Samir Veliyev made a presentation on “The organization of innovation activity and science commercialization in ANAS”, which it has been given information on the mechanisms and measures taken in the field of innovation and the commercialization of science in ANAS. The presentation has been widely commented upon the study of international experience, aimed at innovation authors of the idea, as well as pre-production process of the finished competitive products.

In its report "The role of patents and licenses in the commercialization of science," the head of the Department of Copyright and Patent ANAS Sadiq Nabiyev conveyed to the necessary information relating to the protection of intellectual property rights. It was noted that the factor is more important than the protection of intellectual property rights and patents can only be their application.

Made a presentation, the head of the sector of the international programs and projects of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Arif Najimov spoke about the importance of participation in international programs and projects. Stressing the importance of participation in the framework programs of the European Commission "Horizon-2020" Erasmus + KA2 he shared his experience gained in France.

Note that this was the first seminar series program. The next seminars will be held consecutively on 18 and 22 November to the Divisions of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences and Biological and Medical Sciences.
