On November 30, 2016 at 11am, an event on the occasion of 3 December - International Day of Disabled Persons co-organized by the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS and “International Disability Association" Public Union on November 30.
Opening the event director of the Institute of Law and Human Rights PhD in Law Ayten Mustafayeva spoke about the care of people with disabilities in our country. She said that work is being done by the government due to involve people with disabilities to education, work, and to improve their social welfare.
Then, Social Policy Committee Chairman in Milli Majlis, Professor Hadi Rajabli said that state support for people with disabilities is of high level in the country. He noted that today there are 570 thousand disabled people in Azerbaijan. "Accessibility assistance, solution their problems is a task set by head of state”, - said H. Rajabli and told about the draft law prepared by the deputies to protect the rights of persons with disabilities.
Delegates of AR Health, Environment and Natural Resources, the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic, Commissioner for Human Rights reported at the event and made speech on works done to improve the living conditions of persons with disabilities based on an action plan.
It was noted that the 1st, 2nd group of people with disabilities are provided with free medicines from the government, are taken necessary steps for their treatment in foreign countries, and live in a healthy environment.
The film devoted to the International Day of Disabled Persons was shown.
The ceremony was followed by a musical program.
