ANAS Nakhchivan Branch has presented monograph “Mahammad agha Shahtakhtinski’s journalism” by the director of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, corresponding member of ANAS Abulfez Guliyev and a monograph “Patriot of enlightenment: Hasan bey Gaziyev” by director of the Manuscripts Foundation, Dr. Philology Farman Khalilov.

At the event, chairman of the Branch Academician Ismayil Hajiyev stated that, studies have been carried out about representatives of Shahtakhtlilar generation, who had great merits in Azerbaijani science, education, state-building, diplomacy and press, including their lives have been studied relying on materials gathered from archives and various people and delivered to the public. He noted that decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic "On the 160 anniversary and perpetuating the memory of Mahammed Agha Shakhtakhli” was a great cultural-social event not to study only his life, but also whole lifetime of this generation. As a task stemming out of the Decree, The Book House in Nakhchivan was given the name of prominent educator and publicist Mahammad Agha Shahtakhtli, and immortalized his memory. He stressed that A. Guliyev’s monograph is one of the important measures in the implementation of this decree. By the decision of the Division Presidium was published monograph “Patriot of enlightenment: Hasan bey Gaziyev” referring to the H. Gaziyev’s pedagogical activity in Irevan province and Nakhchivan is elucidated.

Then, chief department of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, PhD in Philology Assoc. Prof. Ramiz Gasimov delivered a lecture on topic “A perfect research work about Mahammad agha Shahtakhtli’s journalism”, analyzing notable educator and social figure’s life and creativity. Great man-of-letter’s activity is divided into two periods, his publicist works, which had penned pre-World War I, were involved in the study.

A leading fellow of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archaeology, PhD in History, Assoc. Prof. Musa Guliyev made a presentation on “The first research work about notable educator - Hasan bey Gaziyev”.

A senior fellow of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, PhD in Philology Aygun Orujova, chief department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Nakhchivan State University, PhD in Pedagogy, Assoc.Prof. Vahid Rzayev reported about the topic.
