Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS Presidium held the meeting of ANAS Joint Council of Veterans (JCV) on the results of 2016.

At the event, Chairman of JCV, Professor Isa Aliyev presented a progress report regarding the structure headed by him in 2016. He spoke about the role of the defense industry in the public and social life of the academy. It was noted that, as a result of successfully carried out by President Ilham Aliyev of socio-economic reforms in the course of the year the country opened numerous jobs, carried out the relevant work towards improving the welfare of poor families.

Describing the progress and the sustainable development, I.Aliyev brought to the attention, that support activities of persons engaged in scientific activities, assistance to persons with material and social problems as well as carry out the necessary work on the evaluation of their work. He stressed that in order to ensure the participation of ANAS employees in cultural events is issued tickets for concerts and theaters. The speaker also spoke about the existing problems in the defense industry activities and solutions, as well as the upcoming work.

Then, speaking in connection with the structure of the activities, Deputy Chairman of the JCV Sayar Abdullayev spoke about the activities undertaken by the Committee in the current year. He recalled that, on May 13, with the organizational support of the Council of young scientists and specialists of ANAS, and with the financial support of the defense industry was held «III football championship for young scientists and specialists", dedicated to the 93rd anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev. Also, from 19 September to 7 October with the organizational and financial support of the defense industry, the I Olympics of chess, backgammon, table tennis and football between the institutions of the Academy.

Speaking, a member of the JCV Abuzar Alekperov noted that, important steps aimed at improving the protection of social and economic rights, welfare and social status of employees.
