Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Department of Social Sciences held a regular meeting of the Bureau on January 24. The meeting was attended by members of the Bureau, managers and employees of academic institutions that are part of the department.

Opening the event, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Social Sciences, corresponding member of ANAS Nargiz Akhundova introduced the agenda. Then scientific and organizational questions have been considered institutions that make up the department.

First of all, was considering the amendments to the structure of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography and the creation of the institute of the Department of Public Relations.

Next, on the agenda was the issue of the creation at ANAS Institute of Economy the Department of Public Relations and International Relations. The structure and composition of the Scientific Council of the institution have been made partial changes.

Then were discussed the establishment of a Commission of Experts of the Department of Social Sciences in connection with the election of active members and corresponding members of ANAS. In speech on this issue Nargiz Akhundova noted that, in connection with the above-mentioned elections in the national press has published the relevant announcement.

She also spoke about the main areas of activity of the commission, said that the commission will be created to study and analyzes the documents. At a meeting of the commission was determined.

Also at the event discussed the amendments to the structure of ANAS Institute of Science History. It was stressed the expediency of approval of the new composition of the Scientific Council of the Institute, as well as the renaming of the Department of History of Science and Education.

Further, was considering the holding of the I International Forum in Caucasian. It was noted that, at the event, to be held in April this year by the Institute of Caucasian ANAS, will discuss topics related to the socio-economic and political situation of the countries of the Caucasus, the relationship between them and the conflicts taking place in the region. At the meeting it was also put forward proposals for the establishment of the organizing committee of the forum and other issues.

It was noted that, the final decisions on the discussed scientific and organizational matters, they will be presented to the Presidium of ANAS. Then the heads of scientific institutions, members of the department have been given appropriate instructions on the activity in 2017.

At a meeting of the Bureau were discussed personnel issues. It was recommended to reaffirm the Ph.Ds on history Tofig Bahramov, Najafli Jabi as a Deputy Director on scientific work of the Institute of History after A.A.Bakihanov. Ph.D in History Zarifa Dulayeva was approved for the position of leading researcher of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History, Emin Dadashov and Konul Manafova on positions of heads of departments at the museum. In addition, Doctor of Economy sciences Dunyamali Valiyev, Ph.D in Theology Mammadli Babashli and PhD in Philology Zenfira Shihalibeyli were appointed as heads of departments of the Institute of Oriental Studies after Academician Z.Bunyatov.
