January 24, a joint general meeting of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences (DBMS) with the Academic Councils for Problems of Biology, Medicine, Genetics and Breeding of Agricultural Plants and Animals, Soil and Water Resources and Environmental Protection of the National Council for the Coordination of Scientific Research (NCCSR).
First Academician-Secretary of the Division, Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov presented the issues on the agenda.
Then were listened reports on the activities of Academic Councils in 2016 and discussed issues concerning the harmonization of research conducted in the division with modern requirements and strengthen the coordination of work.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Scientific Council on the Problems of Genetics and Breeding of Agricultural Plants and Animals, corresponding member of ANAS Zeynal Akbarov recalled the report of Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov "Condition and directions of development of scientific research in the field of biological and medical sciences," at the meeting of the Presidium. It was noted that promising areas in the report referred to in the decree of the Presidium of ANAS, accepted as the basis for further work of DBMS. Also stressed out the need for a multidisciplinary joint programs and projects in the branch offices due to ensure coordination and integration of scientific research, training of personnel master and doctoral studies in promising directions.
It was noted that elected 3 scientific areas that will form the basis of activities, and recommended to take into account in determining the data direction of new problems and the research institutes.
Then the director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova informed about the most important results of the 2016 in scientific institutions of the Division, which included in the annual report. After extensive discussion, the results were decided.
Corresponding member of ANAS Nuru Bayramov spoke about the role of e-science to improve the coordination of work, informed about the sites and OBMN problem councils.
In conclusion, it was recommended to hold regular joint meetings with Problem Councils.
