ANAS Nakhchivan Branch has held scientific conference on “Khojaly genocide” the act of vandalism” devoted to the 25th anniversary of Khojaly genocide.

Chairman of Nakhchivan Branch Academician Ismayil Hajiyev spoke of the genocide policy against Azerbaijanis by Armenian butchers, their exposure our fellows to the repression, deportation, conduct ethnic cleansing, and occupy a portion of our territories. He noted that while attack of Armenians in Khojaly, the elderly, women and children were brutally killed, the civilians went missing and taken prisoner. It was noted that this unprecedented tragedy in the history of humanity has achieved international recognition by national leader Heydar Aliyev in global arena. As a result of great leader's initiative and efforts relevant resolution adopted by the Parliament on February 26 is marked as the day of the Khojaly genocide.

At the event, associates of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology delivered lectures on following topics: “"The road to the Khojaly tragedy", "Khojaly tragedy is a genocide committed against Azerbaijanis", "The influence of Khojaly genocide to national consciousness of Azerbaijanis", "Participation of Armenian terrorist organization in Khojaly tragedy”.

In closing, photos and documents reflecting real facts about Khojaly genocide were demonstrated.
