Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

March 1 - World Civil Defense Day. By the decision of the International Civil Defense Organization in 1972, every year this day is celebrated as a humanitarian measure. In 1993, Azerbaijan became a member of this prestigious international organization. 1 March - on the occasion of the World Civil Defense Day events were held in a number of scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS.

In the events organized at the Institutes of Petrochemical Processes and Botany including National Azerbaijan History Museum were touched upon the purpose of civil defense, the principles of organization, civil defense duties of the government and the citizens. It was noted that in any emergency situation that may occur the task of Civil Defense Headquarters is warning people, making distribution of personal protective equipment and placing in the safe shelters.

During the event, members of the Civil Defense Headquarters have visually demonstrated skills gained in connection natural disasters, industrial accidents and with the elimination of consequences of emergency situations.
