Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

“Islamic solidarity, cultural diversity and national identity” international scientific conference was held at the Central Scientific Library of ANAS on March 29.

Event was co-organized by Institute of Philosophy of ANAS, Knowledge Foundation under President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and department of Juridical and Political Sciences of the Nice Sophia Antipolis University of France.

Conference with participation of representations of culture centers of the USA, France, Morocco, Egypt, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and other countries, which were accredited in Azerbaijan, was opened by director of Institute of Philosophy Prof. Ilham Mammadzadeh, who stated the declaration of current year “The Year of Islamic Solidarity” by Mr. President Ilham Aliyev.

At the conference French scientists made speech on topic “Islamic solidarity, cultural diversity and national identity” – Professor Christian Vallar touched upon the topic "Islam and Republic", Professor Xavier Latur "To be French", Professor Poline Turk "Language identity: minority status in France and Azerbaijan" and Professor Klodin Terrazzoni-Biblok "Indivisibility of the Republic and Islam".

Deputy Director of Science of the Institute of Philosophy, PhD in Philosophy Eynulla Madatli, Professor Zumrud Guluzade, Dr. Philosophy Fuzuli Gurbanov, administrative head of Knowledge Foundation under AR President Professor Isakhan Veliyev spoke of the place and significance of national values in Islamic solidarity, including moral essentials of Islamic solidarity.
