Institute for Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry discussed the tasks associated with the implementation of the "Strategic Roadmap"

Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry discussed the tasks arising from the "Strategic Roadmap of the National Economy and the Main Sectors of the Economy", approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 6, 2016 on March 31.

At the meeting ANAS Vice-President, Director of the Institute, Academician Dilgam Tagiyev said that, the "Strategic Road Map" covers 12 areas, and the goal is to ensure the sustainability of economic policies and reforms implemented in the country.

Academician noted that, the document covers the strategy of economic development for 2016-2020, the Action Plan, the long-term view for the period until 2025 and the period after 2025. He stressed that the "Strategic Roadmap for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry (including Chemical Products) of the Republic of Azerbaijan" poses certain tasks for the Institute.

The scientist said that the institute will put forward proposals for the preparation of national innovation policy and improvement of the patent system in the country.

Discussions were held on the topic, suggestions and questions were voiced.

Then was determined tasks entrusted to the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry in the coming years.

Decisions on expansion of opportunities of defense of Azerbaijan have been adopted, to replace imported products with local raw materials, to produce products from the local raw materials in the country, to develop new products from the Neftechali iodine-bromine plant.

In addition, orders were given to develop mineral raw materials, alternative energy sources and chemical industry in the republic, improve technologies to increase productive capacity and use the capabilities of ANAS High Technologies Park.

In conclusion, a number of current issues were discussed.
