Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

In the Central Scientific Library of ANAS (CSL) a presentation of works of Azerbaijani writers translated into the languages of the peoples of Western Europe was held.

Opening the event, the director of the CSL, Leila Imanova, noted that the publications in the library's fund are systematized and presented to the public. Having told about the project "National Digital Memory, L. Imanova reported that foreign embassies take an active part in this direction. She brought to the attention of the participants of the event that, in order to implement the project at the level of cooperation with the scientific institutions of the Academy, all institutions were turned to and positive results were achieved.

Then, Aybeniz Ismayilova, an employee of the Western European Literature Fund of the Protection of Funds Department, told about the stored editions. It was noted that the Western Europe Literature Foundation consists of 82 departments, which store 150 million journals, 9,000 books, which continue to be published, and about 62,000 books.

At the event, the participants were presented with translated versions of works by Shah Ismail Khatai, Aliagha Vahid, Nizami Ganjavi, Mohammed Fizuli, Mirza Shafi Vazeh, Mirza Fatali Akhundov, Chingiz Abdullayev, Kamal Abdullayev, Elchin, and the epos "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud".

Speaking at the meeting, the head of the International Relations Department of the Literature Institute named after Nizami, Ph.D. in Philology Khanym Zairova, the head of the World Literature Department of the same institute, Gular Abdullabeyova and others stressed the importance of literary translation in expanding ties between peoples and that in the years of independence.

In conclusion, a slide of the publications kept in the fund was demonstrated.
