Presented corresponding member of ANAS Anvar Shikhlinsky’s book bulk

On April 20, Central Scientific Library (CSL) has held a presentation of book bulk by State Laureate of Azerbaijan corresponding member of ANAS Anvar Shikhlinsky.

Opening the ceremony chief of International and Public Relations Department of CSL Mubariz Goyushlu said that, such events are of traditional character at the organization led by him. He stated that today’s presentation has been devoted to the prominent climatologist of Azerbaijan Anvar Shikhlinsky.

Then, an employee of CSL Department of Cataloging and Systemizing Aygun Mehdiyeva informed about the scientist’s academic activity. She noted that, A.Shikhlinsky has held vital studies on climate, physical geography and landscape geophysics of the mountainous countries. As a result of studies carried out by the scientist, 9 climate types have been uncovered in Azerbaijan, and he was the first scientist who had gained honored title of scientific figure of Azerbaijan, she added.

Informing in detail about his bulk, A.Mehdiyeva noted that, 755 books have been included in the CSL from Institute of Geography and author of two of them and editor of one is A.Shikhlinsky. Scientist’s bulk was included in the both traditional and electron catalogues, and was commissioned by readers at the “Auxiliary Foundation of Earth Sciences”.

A.Shikhlinsky’s relatives - film director, Honored Worker of Art Ziya Shikhlinsky, chairman of the Azerbaijan Journalists’ Union, Honored Journalist Elchin Shikhli, head department of Immunogenetics at the Institute of Genetic Resources Haji Shikhlinsky, scientist’s granddaughter artist Sabina Shikhlinsky, student - a senior researcher at the Institute of Geography Ph.D. in geography Associate Professor Maharram Hasanov and others shared their memories about scientist.
