Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Employees of Siberian Branch of Institute of Cytology and Genetics, Center of Federal Studies, located in Novosibirsk, Russia – Professor Yelena Klestkina and Svetlana Zubova visited Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies.

The guests, who acquainted with the labs of the institute, were informed about establishment history of the institute, studies carried out and staff training.

Then, institute has held meeting with Russian guests.

At the event, Prof. Y. Khlestkina delivered a lecture on “Genetics, biotechnology and bioinformatics” and noted that the main direction of research of the structure it represents is the genetics of humans, animals and plants, and serious attention is paid to training.

At the seminar, S.Zubova made a report on the topic "Additional profile education in the field of natural sciences". She talked about the work carried out in the structure she represented, to improve the world outlook of schoolchildren and their interest in science. It was noted that the Institute regularly holds conferences for students of grades 4-11.

In conclusion, the guests were given a special issue of the journal "News of ANAS" (series of Biological Sciences) in English and a booklet dedicated to Academician Jalal Aliyev.

In conclusion, it was noted the need to sign a cooperation agreement between the two institutions.
