Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The final stage of the start-up contest "New Idea - 2017" by support of the Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the General Partnership of the High Technologies Park (HTP)of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was realize.

In the final, in which has participated 11 start-up projects, 5 teams won. The team, awarded the first place, was awarded a cash prize of 10,000 manats as the general sponsor of the HTP competition. The winners of the second and third places were awarded cash prizes in the amount of 5 thousand and 2,500 manat by private companies that are partners of the contest. In addition, the winners were awarded air tickets to Silicon Valley in the US and other various awards.

At the awards ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov in his speech highly appreciated the various directions of the projects submitted for the competition. He noted that, the conditions created by President Ilham Aliyev for the youth increased their interest in start-ups.

Further, the rector of BIU, Professor Khavar Mammadov noted that the scientific potential of the project of the structure led by him allowed to successfully implementing the project "New Idea".

At the event, Director of ANAS BEU, PhD in agrarian sciences Vugar Babayev spoke about the importance of the development of innovative thinking. The scientist noted that an agreement was concluded with the BEU and expressed confidence that in the future more successful projects in this direction will be implemented.

It should be noted that, the identification of innovative ideas in the technological sphere, the development of ideas of initiative, the formation of companies that are sustainable to international competitiveness, which can play an important role in the development of the country and the region are the main objectives of the project.
