On July 11, the General Meeting of the Humanitarian Sciences Department of ANAS was held.
Vice-President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli, members of the department, heads and employees of scientific institutions attended the event.
Opening the meeting, academician Isa Habibbeyli informed the participants about the issues on the agenda.
The new composition of HSD was first discussed in scientific-organizational issues. It was decided to give a petition to the Presidium on approval of the new composition of the division and appointment of the bureau members.
The next issue on the agenda was the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of HSD in the first half of 2017.
Academician-secretary of the department, Teymur Karimli, spoke about the scientific and scientific-organizational work carried out in the first six months of the current year. He said that reports on the first half of the institute and scientific organizations were presented to the section. T. Kerimli spoke about decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and decisions and orders of the Presidium of ANAS for six months. He provided extensive information on academic research, national and international events, interaction between science and education, personnel potential and preparation of scientific cadres, publishing activities, work with magistrates, international relations of the department and other activities.
The report was then discussed and approved by the decision of the department.
Decisions were made to amend the composition of the Scientific Councils of the Literature and Linguistic Institutes, as well as to postpone the dissertation of several doctors and dissertations from the Institute of Literature and Manuscripts.
At the end the current issue was considered.
Academician Vasim Mammadaliyev s 75th anniversary was also discussed. It was decided to hold a motion together with the Department of Humanitarian and Social Sciences, as well as a petition to the Presidium on awarding Honorary Decree to the scientist.
