ANAS Institute of History and Applied Research Foundation of ANAS held seminar on "Actual problems of protection of the national interests of Azerbaijan in the conditions of strengthening of conflicts in the region" on October 16.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Institute, Academician Yagub Makhmudov noted that, the protection of our values, national interests in the context of increasing conflicts in the region, is extremely important. Scientist said: "We are concerned that today some circles of the world community do not want to see our reality. The main goal of Azerbaijani historians is to bring our real history to the world community and to prevent false Armenian propaganda".

According to the Director of the Institute of History, today the world faces extremely complex and dangerous confrontations: "Various political forces of the world create conflicts in the Muslim world. We are against attributing terrorism to Islam. There are hundreds of terrorist organizations in the Christian world, but Islamophobia is openly implemented".

Academician Yagub Makhmudov stressed: "President Ilham Aliyev represents the realities of Azerbaijan as an example for the whole world. From this point of view, international conferences on the topic of genocides, which are held on the initiative and under the auspices of the head of our state, play an important role in revealing historical truths".

"Recently, at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, President Ilham Aliyev, in his speech, outlined the objective and real ways of solving conflicts in today's troubled world, securing the sovereign rights of peoples and states and exposed the hypocritical role of Armenian fascism". According to Academician Yagub Makhmudov, the only way out of the difficult situation is to strengthen the power of Azerbaijan, close rally around President Ilham Aliyev.

In the event, Chairman of the Center for Applied Research, Ibrahim Aliyev, delivered a report on "The activities of Azerbaijan to resolve regional problems in the modern period", head of the Department of the Institute of History Adalat Hasimov on "Actual problems of Islamic solidarity in the modern period".

Ilgar Niftaliev and Natik Mammadzadeh also spoke at the seminar.
