ANAS Institute of Manuscripts after Muhammad Fizuli held the 2nd International Scientific and Theoretical Conference on "Azerbaijan manuscripts in world libraries".

ANAS Vice-President, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, opening the event, noted the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 10, 2017 on the announcement of 2017 as the Year of Islamic Solidarity in the Country. He noted that, Azerbaijan made a great contribution to the development of Islamic culture, the emergence of an atmosphere of tolerance, multiculturalism and the establishment of a dialogue between cultures and civilizations.

"The announcement of the current year" The Year of Islamic Solidarity in the Country "is the most worthy response to the hostile policy against Islam in the world," Academician I.Habibbayli said and brought to the attention that with the organizational support of the institutes of Oriental Studies, Philosophy, Economics and Linguistics cycle of events dedicated to the "Year of Islamic Solidarity".

I.Habibbeyli recalled the cycle of events held in Finland, Turkey, Russia and Uzbekistan with joint organizational support of ANAS, the Caucasus Muslims Office and the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, and said that the summit on the results of the "Year of Islamic Solidarity" will be celebrated at the state level on December 21 this year.

In conclusion, the Vice-President wished successes to the conference, expressed confidence that the meetings would be fruitful.

Then, in his speech academician-secretary of the Department of Humanitarian Sciences, director of the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS, Academician Teymur Kerimli spoke about the work done in the last period in the field of collection, publication and preservation of manuscripts. Noting that there is a rich treasury belonging to Azerbaijan in the libraries of the world, the scientist expressed the importance of their research and presentation to the public. T.Kerimli noted that the mentioned manuscripts reflect rich facts and materials about the culture, history and national and spiritual values of Azerbaijan. The academician said that the organization of an international conference will play an important role in bringing these materials to the world public.

The event continued its work in the plenary session where reports were presented by the Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Institute of Manuscripts, Doctor of Philology Aibeniz Aliyeva-Kengerli "The Paris and Tiflis Copies" in the world book circulation ", Deputy Director of the Institute for Scientific Work, Doctor philological sciences Pasha Kerimov "Routes of trips to Hajj in memoirs and sefernam", etc.

The conference continued its work at the sessions of the sections.
