An international conference dedicated to academician Akif Hajiyev's 80th unniversary kicked off

An international scientific conference on “Modern Problems of Mathematics and Mechanics” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Academician Akif Hajiyev launched at ANAS Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics on December 6.

Initially, the participants acquainted with the exhibition, which reflects the life and creativity of A.Hajiyev.

Opening the event, Director of the IMM, correspondent member of ANAS Misir Mardanov spoke about the life of the outstanding scientist A.Hajiyev, his achievements in science and his contribution to the Azerbaijani science.

Speaking about A.Hajiyev's contribution to the development of modern mathematical science in the republic, M.Mardanov emphasized that, the scientist has created a scientific school in this field and devoted all his life to the development of our science.

Reminding that, he repeatedly discussed with A.Hajiyev about the development of our science, Director of the Institute noted that, the scientific staff of the scientist are currently successfully pursuing their activities in our country and abroad.

M.Mardanov emphasized that today's conference is a manifestation of respect for Academician A.Hajiyev's personality and scientific authority.

Akif Hajiyev occupies a special place in the history of Azerbaijan's mathematical science, and his scientific heritage would always live.

Corresponding members of ANAS Bilal Bilalov, Vagif Guliyev, Professor Nadir Suleymanov, Associate Professor of Yildiz Technical University Yusif Zeren, Dean of the Kırıkkale University Sevgi Esen and others speaks on Akif Hajiyev's character as a simple and modest person, great mathematician and shared his memories of the scientist.

After the speeches, sessions began. Then, were listened about 160 reports on "Harmonic and non-harmonic analysis", "Functional analysis", "Geometry, topology and algebra", "Theories of approximation", "Partial Differential Equations", "Theory of Operators and Spectral Analysis", "Applied Analysis", " , "Optimal management problems", "Probability theory and stochastic analysis", "Mathematical physics", "History of mathematics and teaching methodology".
