Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry after M.Nagiyev held next meeting of the Presidium of ANAS on January 15.

First, the issue was discussed in connection with the 70th anniversary of corresponding member of ANAS Hafiz Alimardanov. The Presidium gave instructions to hold a broad meeting devoted to the jubilee of the scientist and the publication of a bibliography of his works.

The meeting also listening a report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the ANAS Ganja Division in 2017.

Speaking with the report, the chairman of the Division, Academician Fuad Aliyev noted that, fundamental and applied research in the reporting year was conducted in accordance with decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as resolutions approved by the Presidium of ANAS.

Having published the statistics, Academician Fuad Aliyev said that, last year 27 departments on 27 topics covering 6 problems were implemented in the institute's institutes, and 23 studies covered 2 important scientific results: "As a result of scientific research conducted in Ganja branch, four books were published, 96 articles were published, 42 of which were published abroad, and 38 theses, 14 of which were published abroad. In journals with impact factor, 28 articles of employees were published. Currently, in the institutes of the department for the program for the preparation of doctors of sciences, 2 persons are conducting their research on various topics, according to the program for the preparation of doctors of philosophy - 9 people, in the dissertations - 3 people. The department employs 1 academician, 7 doctors of science and 32 doctors of philosophy, in general - 92 researchers".

Speaking about the partial structural changes and cooperation with various institutions of ANAS conducted at the Ganja Division in the reporting year, Academician noted that, employees of Division took part in conferences, seminars and congresses of international and republican scale, prepared their monographs for printing on the basis of research in various fields. He stressed that, several employees of the department were awarded state orders and prizes.

It was noted that, at the meeting in 2017 the joint stationary Ganja station of the Azerbaijan GPS landfill and the Department of Modern Geodynamics and Space Geodesy of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS was installed in the department, which was included in the UNAVCO NASA world system. The research is continuing within the framework of the project to develop new technological methods for the production of aluminum alum from wastes of alunite, which won the main competition for receiving grants for scientific research programs announced by the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Speaking about the activities carried out during the reporting period in the sphere of integration of science and education, Academician Fuad Aliyev said that, cooperation was established not only with higher educational institutions, but also with secondary schools, measures aimed at increasing the interest of schoolchildren in science were implemented.

After listening reports, were held discussions. Academicians Isa Habibbeyli, Rasim Alguliyev, correspondent member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov and other speakers expressed their opinions and suggestions.

The report on scientific and scientific-organizational activities of Ganja department of ANAS in 2017 was adopted.
