Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Academician of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences (GNAS), Vladimir Papavaja, was awarded the “Honorary Doctor” of the Institute of Economics at the main building of ANAS.

Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, Deputy Minister of Education Firudin Gurbanov, MPs, economists and media representatives attended the event.

Director of the Institute, Doctor of Economics, Professor Nazim Imanov informed the event participants about the life and scientific activity of V.Papava. He noted that Vladimer Papava was born in Tbilisi in 1955 and began his career as a junior researcher at the Institute of Economics and Law of the Georgian Academy of Sciences in 1977. He noted that V.Papava was a corresponding member of GNAS in 1997 and was elected as an academician in 2013.

N.Imanov later presented the diploma and "Honorary Doctor" of the Institute of Economy by the decision of the Scientific Council of the enterprise, dated December 19, 2017.

Academician Ziyad Samadzadeh said at the event that V.Papava was internationally recognized and said that he was an exceptional service between Azerbaijan and Georgia on the establishment and development of economic relations.

Later, V.Papava thanked the management of the institute for the award and conveyed a report.
