Scientific-practical seminar on "Advanced technology of tea and citrus crops" was held in Astara on March 13, jointly organized by the executive power of the region, Agriculture Department and Lankaran Regional Scientific Center of ANAS.

Speaking at the event, Etibar Abbasov, head of the Agriculture Department of Astara Region, said the measures envisaged in the third State Program on Socio-Economic Development of the Regions were successfully implemented in Astara. He noted that the adoption of state programs on tea and citrus development will strengthen the agrarian potential of the country, contributing to the development of these areas, reducing dependence on imports and improving the living conditions of the population.

It was stressed that the State Program envisages increasing the scientific and staffing potential of tea and citrus fertilizers, state support measures, strengthening of marketing activity and export promotion.

Later, the director of Lankaran Regional Scientific Center, Professor Farman Guliyev spoke about the development of tea and citrus plantations, proper agrotechnical service during planting and cultivation.

Finally, the farmers questions were answered.
