On March 15, a meeting on the development of health tourism in our country was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Naftalan under the chairmanship of Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev.

First, Naftalan City Executive Head Natig Aslanov spoke about the tourism potential of the city. He said that treatment with Naftalan oil, known in the field of health tourism, has become even more popular in recent years. This will increase the number of foreign tourists coming to the city every year.

Then, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev spoke about the work done to develop tourism industry in our country. He stressed that the tourism industry, which occupies one of the main places in the economy of the non-oil sector of our country, is always in the spotlight of President Ilham Aliyev.

A.Garayev noted the special place in the development of health tourism in our country on the Strategic Road Map. According to him, the Working Group on Health Tourism (as well as Naftalan Oil Exploration Group) was established within the Tourism Council for execution of the relevant paragraphs of the document. According to the decision of the Tourism Council, the composition of the working group consisting of the representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Petrochemical Processes named after Yusif Mammadaliyev were approved.

Then, director of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes, acad. Vagif Abbasov spoke about the Naftalan oil research, its results and the importance of treatment. The scientist gave detailed information about the composition of Naftalan oil and its therapeutic significance.

Speaking at the event, President of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation "Kurort" Abil Aghasiev, chairman of Azerbaijan Health and Thermal Tourism Association Ruslan Guliyev spoke about the opportunities of Azerbaijan's health tourism and the work carried out to promote the country in the international arena.
