A meeting of the Scientific Council on Chemical Problems of the Scientific Research Coordination Council of the Republic was held.
The meeting, held at the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry, was opened by the chairman of the board, correspondent member of ANAS Mohammed Babanli.
Later, the lecturer of the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry, Doctor of Chemistry, Professor Nizami Zeynalov delivered a report on "Polymer hydrogels as an effective vector in the transport of drugs and gene therapy". Zeynalov talked about polymer hydrographs, their work on medicines and their use in gene therapy worldwide and in the laboratory.
According to the scientist, immobilization of biological active compounds to polymer carriers improves their pharmacological properties, increases effect duration and activation, reduces toxic effects, and increases the effectiveness of damaged organs and increases stability in the maintenance.
The scientist said using this type of polymer would reduce the therapeutic dose of doxorubicin in experimental treatment of tumor diseases.
Then, a wide discussion was held on the report and it was decided to present the report to the Presidium of ANAS.
