Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry of ANAS held “Open door” day for the students of secondary school # 195 after Y.Aliyev of Garadagh district, Baku.

Opening the event, ANAS Vice-president, director of the institute, academician Dilgam Tagiyev, brought to the attention that, in our country there are great opportunities for the development of science, education, and their integration at the modern level. He noted that in recent years important work has been done in this direction in ANAS and the main goal of holding the "Open Doors" day is the formation of the schoolchildren's worldview, increasing interest in chemical science. The academician also told the students about the history of the institute, prominent scientists and chemists of the institute.

Then, the research assistant of the Institute Sevinj Osmanova delivered a report on "Proteins, amino acids and their role in nature". The report aroused great interest among schoolchildren and was widely discussed.

As part of the event, a quiz for schoolchildren in chemistry was held, and the winners were awarded a commendable sheet.

At the same time, excursions to various laboratories were organized for students and a number of interesting scientific experiments in the laboratory of "Analytical Chemistry" were visually demonstrated.
