Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

An event dedicated to the 100th jubilee of critics, literary critic, member of the Azerbaijan Writers Union, Honored Scientist, Doctor of Philology, Professor Mirali Seyidov was held in the Central Scientific Library of ANAS.

Speaking at the event, the head of the Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan, academician Nizami Jafarov characterized M.Seyidov as a great citizen and shared his memories of the scientist. Academician said that M.Seyidov's literary relations, mythology, etymology and ethnogenesis studies are both contemporary and actual in both literary-theoretical and cultural-political aspect, the speaker underlined.

Director of the CSL, PhD in Medicine Leyla Imanova informed about the document signed by the People's Writer Mirza Ibrahimov in the archive of academician Bekir Nabiyev, a close associate of the scientist. L.Imanova said M.Seyidov's books are included in the electronic catalog and National Digital Memory base and their works are mainly published with Cyrillic graphics. L.Imanova emphasized the necessity of attracting experts for rewriting the works of the scientist in Latin script.

Then the report of the head of department of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, doctor of philological sciences Seyfaddin Rzasoy report on "My Mirali Seyidov" was listened.

Finally, his son Elchin Seyidov, the scientist thanked the event organizers and participants.

The film "Mirali Seyidov-100", prepared by CSL, was demonstrated at the event.
