Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, Sumgayit Executive Power, Sumgait Youth Union of Youth, held scientific and practical conference "Youth and Scientific Policy in Azerbaijan: Harmony of Tradition and Modernity" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev on May 7.

At the beginning, the participants of the event visited the Heydar Aliyev monument.

The conference, organized at the Heydar Aliyev Center, started from the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Opening the event, the 1st deputy head of Sumgayit executive power and chairman of the Sumgayit NAP Teymur Samedov noted that, the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the great personality of Heydar Aliyev in Sumgait was a significant event. He spoke about the invaluable merits of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the socio-economic development of Sumgayit and the improvement of the well-being of the population. T.Samedov stressed that, during the reign of the national leader Sumgayit was one of the most rapidly developing cities in the country.

Speaking then, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS, Ph.D. in Physics, Associate Professor Famin Salmanov stressed that since the 1970s Heydar Aliyev paid special attention to the academy and Azerbaijani science became famous all over the world. The chairman of the council noted that due to the far-sighted policy and the ideal national scientific strategy of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijani scientists adequately represented the domestic science in a wide geographical space, despite the difficulties of this period.

F.Salmanov stressed that, the great leader, who is the owner of the words: "Science is an important source of socio-economic and spiritual development of the country", at that time managed to prepare and successfully implement the scientific concept of turning Azerbaijan into a modern and independent state.

Noting that, the basis for the formation of our youth as a modern, advanced, driving force with high intellectual abilities is connected with the name of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the scientist noted that since 1995 the holding of the Republican Forum of Azerbaijani Youth has acquired a traditional character. As a result of the far-sighted policy of the great leader, for the first time in Azerbaijan, on February 2, 1996, the All-Republic Youth Day was established.

Then, were listened lectures of the teacher of Sumgait State University, PhD in history Gunay Shukurova on "Heydar Aliyev and strategy of nationalization of education in Azerbaijan", doctoral candidate of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Management Mazahir Efendiyev on "Heydar Aliyev and foreign policy of Azerbaijan", leading researcher of the Department of State and Constitutional Law Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS, Doctor of Law Nasib Shukurov on "Heydar Aliyev and Legal Reforms", doctoral student of the Caucasus Studies Institute Yeghiana Bakhshiyeva on "Heydar Aliyev and the peace process in the Caucasus", a researcher of the Institute of Literature, Ph.D. in Philology of Mehman Hasan "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani Literature".
