Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Institute of Philosophy held a scientific conference "Azerbaijan Democratic Republic - 100: heredity and modernity", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on May 21, 2018.

Opening the event, Director of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Ilham Mammadzadeh said that, the conference was held within the framework of President Ilham Aliyev's Order "On the 100th Anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic" dated May 16, 2017.

Noted that, in 2018 the country was declared the "Year of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic" I.Mammadzadeh noted that, ADR won independence under difficult historical conditions. In a short time, the parliament and the government of the country were formed, the emblem, flag and anthem were created and including the native language was declared the state language.

The scientist noted that the ADR took as a basis the principle of equality of people's power and people, granting equal rights to all citizens of the country, eliminating racial, national and religious and class inequalities, for the first time gave voice to women in the Muslim East.

Noting that, ADR with his rich experience of state building has left an indelible mark on the country's history, I.Mammadzadeh brought to the attention that the creation of increased feelings of independence and freedom in the hearts of the people, has created a solid basis for further strengthening of the independence of our country. He stressed that the Republic of Azerbaijan is the legal and political successor of the ADR.

The scientist also stressed the importance of research in the field of philosophical aspects of influence on people's minds the creation of ADR and its decay.

Then, the conference were listened the reports deputy of the Milli Mejlis, doctor of political sciences, Professor Elman Nasirov on "Azerbaijan Democratic Republic: tradition and heredity" leading researcher of the Institute of History, PhD in history Ilgar Niftaliev on "History of the creation and activities of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic", chief researcher of the Institute of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy Aydin Alizadeh on "Secret struggle for independence in Azerbaijan against councils after the collapse of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic".
