Presentation on detectors for small-size satellites at ANAS

A joint meeting of Azerkosmos OJSC and the Center for Strategic Scientific Research (CSSR) of the National Academy of Sciences was held on July 26 in the Presidium.

Initially, CSSR 's Laboratory Director, PhD in Physics Farid Ahmedov made a presentation on the development of new gamma and ionizing particle detectors based on microplate silica photogens for small-size satellites. He pointed out that new models of CSSR photodiodes are being prepared at the Korean NanoFab Center based on the proposed structure in 2015-2016. He noted that these photographs, comparable to the Japanese model of Hamamatsu, are chosen by their advantage. Photodiodes have been welcomed by a number of foreign certification centers and manufacturing companies.

The head of the Laboratory also drew attention to the requirements that are required during the preparation of ionizing radiation detectors based on the mentioned photodiodes.

Then, wide discussions were held on the presentation.

Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, vice-president of ANAS, spoke about the possibility of cooperation with Azerkosmos OJSC in the future in the development of such products.

Head of ANAS CSSR, Doctor of Political Sciences Fatali Abdullayev underlined the strategic importance of the project and emphasized the need to revise its implementation and focus its attention on establishing contacts with companies within the project.

Chairman of Azercosmos OJSC Rashad Nabiyev stressed the need to support researches in the field and emphasized the importance of studying the experience of the Academy in this direction.

Representatives of the Institute of Radiation Problems and National Aviation Academy also attended the meeting.
