Chairman of the department, academician Ismail Hajiyev, opened the event, informed the participants about the issues on the agenda.

Then, head of the Scientific and Organizational Department, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Orkhan Bagirov delivered a report on the results of the research period of the current year. He noted that, all decrees, orders and decisions of higher authorities were implemented. O.Bagirov stressed that, in the first 9 months of 2018 the 16 monographs, 10 books, 4 textbooks, 415 scientific articles, 5 theses and 608 scientific works were published. 127 works were published abroad, of which 22 were published in scientific journals with impact factor.

The scientist said that, three issues of the journals “News” and “Researches” were published, as well as employees of the organization took part in the publication of the journal “Nakhchivan” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. At the same time, was published the second volume of the book “The Geography of Nakhchivan”.

It was also told about the healing mud "Shorsu", which was developed at the Laboratory of Natural Resources. He said that, the obligations under the order of the chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on the preparation of therapeutic mud "Shors" were successfully fulfilled.

The event noted that, the staff of the Department had scientific contacts with the International Turkic Academy of Kazakhstan, the universities of Istanbul, Bitlis-Eran, Erzurum, Sakarya, Tabriz State University, the National Tabriz Library, the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, with a number of Russian universities and scientists from the USA and France. During the reporting period, the implementation of 2 republican grant projects was completed, and two grant projects, including 1 international, are being implemented.

In addition, a research group was created to provide for the restoration work on the Karabaglar Mausoleum Complex. The book "Karabaglar Mausoleum Complex" was prepared for printing in three languages (in Azerbaijani, English and Russian).

The book “Geochemistry of natural water and features of distribution in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic”, written by the co-authorship of corresponding member of ANAS Aliaddin Abbasov, Ph.D. in Chemistry, Fizza Mammadova and Farah Heydarova was awarded the gold medal of the Paris Book Exhibition and Diploma of the V International Moscow Educational Exhibition.

Speaking at the event Director of the Institute of Biological Resources, academician Tariel Talibov and Director of the Institute of Literature, Language and Art, corresponding member of ANAS Abulfaz Guliyev considered the scientific indicators satisfactory and offered to accept the report.
