Head of the Department of Geography of Land Resources of Azerbaijan of Institute of Geography named after H.Aliyev, PhD in Agrarian Sciences, Assistant prof. Ismayil Guliyev and chief researcher of this department, doctor of geographical sciences Mahmud Khalilov conducted land survey in Jeyranchol low mountainous area.

The Desert Expedition was organized on the basis of the project "Exodynamic and territorial processes in lands changed as a result of man's economic activity, environmental improvement and qualitative management of these soils (as Jeyranchol)" with the support of the Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the 10-day research, the physical characteristics of the soil on the genetic layer of the soil were studied, and the current state of soil cover, and the changes that occurred in the process of soil formation as a result of natural and man's economic activity were researched. Samples were taken for morphological description and analysis based on land plots.
