Today, at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS a reporting meeting of the institutes of the Division of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences for 2018 was held.

Academician secretary of the department, director of the Institute of Physics of ANAS, academician Nazim Mamedov, opening the event, spoke about the issues on the agenda. He said that the meeting was devoted to the discussion of the activities of the institutes of the Division of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences in the current year.

Introducing the annual report, the deputy director for scientific affairs of the Institute of Physics, academician Javad Abdinov noted that in the current year, employees of the Institute have conducted research in the field of condensed matter physics, physical fundamentals and technology of optoelectronics, physical and technical problems of power engineering and nuclear physics.

The annual report of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics was presented by the Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS Misir Mardanov, who brought to the attention that important research, organizational and scientific work was carried out this year in the structure headed by him. He noted that during the reporting year, employees published 368 scientific papers - 207 articles (152 - abroad), 150 theses (58 - abroad) and 16 scientific and journalistic publications. As well as a monograph and study guide. Of the published articles, 76 were published in journals with imapt factors included in the scientific base of Thomson Reuters, 34 - in the scientific base of Scopus. M.Mardanov noted that in 2018 6 doctors of science and 14 doctors of philosophy defended themselves at the institute.

Then, academician Fikrat Aliyev delivered a report on the report of the Research Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Baku State University for 2018. He noted that this year the institute organized the VI international conference “Control and Optimization with Industrial Applications (COIA-2018)” and other conferences, in which more than 200 scientists from 30 countries took part.

Presenting the annual report of the Institute of Control Systems, Director of the institute, academician Telman Aliyev noted that this year the institute completed 9 scientific studies on 9 topics. In the reporting year, there was a defense of 1 doctoral thesis and 7 dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. In 2018, 375 scientific papers were published by the Institute’s staff.

Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems, corresponding member of ANAS Oktay Samadov noted that in 2018 24 research projects were carried out on 12 topics and 4 problems.

Director of the Director of ANAS Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory after Nasreddin Tusi, corresponding member Namig Jalilov delivered the annual report of the structure this year, brought to the attention scientific achievements and work carried out in the field of practical astrophysics. He noted that in the reporting year, 44 books, monographs and articles were published. 94 references to the articles of the Observatory scientists were registered.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Institute of Biophysics, corresponding member of ANAS Oktay Gasimov told about the projects implemented this year, the research and the work ahead.

Then, Academician-Secretary of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Information Technology, academician Rasim Alguliyev brought to the attention the scientific achievements of the institution he headed for 2018.

He noted that during the 2018, the Institute staff published 99 articles, 4 books and 2 express information were published. At the conferences of the republican and international level the institute employees participated with 114 reports. From published in the 2018 the 213 scientific papers the 80 were included in authoritative scientific base.

R.Alguliyev also informed on the work carried out at the institute in 2018 in the direction of scientific-organizational and scientific-innovative activities, cooperation with universities, etc.
