An event titled "Economic Reforms: Opportunities for Science Potential" was held on 5 February at the joint organization of the Institute of Economy and Center for Republic Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication of AR.
The event held at the Central Scientific Library with the participation of representatives of the scientific community widely discussed successful economic reforms under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Academician Isa Habibbayli, vice-president of ANAS, opened the event and said that wide-ranging reforms are being carried out in all spheres of society building, including economic sphere. He noted that the economic success of Azerbaijan, the leading state of the region, was highly appreciated at the Davos Economic Forum, as well as by international experts and financial institutions.
Then, Vusal Gasimli, executive director of the Center for Republic Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, said that according to strategic road maps approved by President Ilham Aliyev, the country's economy has steadily shattered from external shocks in 2016-2017. According to him, the line of development has been restored since the end of 2017.
Referring to the importance of mobilizing the potential of science in Azerbaijan and involvement in successful economic policy in the country, V.Gasimli said that the Center regularly addresses the opportunities of the country's economy in the analysis and communication of reforms.
Speaking at the event, Director of the Institute of Economy, Doctor of Economics, Professor Nazim Imanov said that scientific and research institutes and state bodies jointly hold conferences, scientific seminars, scientific-practical discussions, both scientific provision of reforms in the country and more effective than scientific potential. He noted that the Institute of Economy undertook a complex research work on the acceleration of the post-oil economy construction in Azerbaijan in 2017-2018, based on the tasks set in the strategic road maps.
N.Imanov said that he is planning to conduct research on the topic "Azerbaijan's socio-economic development and further improvement of its position in international ratings" in 2019-2021, in order to contribute to the enhancement of the effectiveness of economic reforms in the country.
Later, Narmin Kazimli, an analyst at the Center for Republic Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, made a presentation on the key steps taken within the framework of complex business reform. During the presentation, she informed about the new permit rules for the application of a unified approach to building permits for the construction of the country in the international rankings and other problems.
It was noted that economic reforms carried out by the head of state contributed to strengthening our independence contributes to the development of our economy and social well-being and to the strengthening of scientific potential.
